Under Starters Orders At The Olympics

On the 22nd of May Sparrow Mini Tower Cranes installed a Liebherr 42k self erecting crane on the Athletes Village site.

The self erecting crane itself has a configuration of 26 metre hook height and shortened jib length of 26m from its standard 36m. The crane will be working in close proximity to two other static type tower cranes as well as mini cranes and concrete pumping equipment. The sensitive nature of the other equipment on site precluded that an anti-collision system be fitted to allow avoidance of potential hazards. This machine will provide much needed support to this part of the project.

Sparrows Mini Tower Cranes are delighted to be involved on the Olympic Park project build program as it will demonstrate the flexibility of this type of machine in delivering fast results both for the customer and the Olympic Delivery Authority.
